About our organization
The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) is an independent research institution which generates science-based knowledge about the complex role trees play in agricultural landscapes and rural livelihoods. As part of the Centre’s work to bring tree-based solutions to bear on poverty and environmental problems, researchers – working in close collaboration with partners – are developing new technologies, tools and policy recommendations for increased food security and ecosystem health.

The Centre’s headquarters are located in Nairobi, Kenya, and research is conducted in 23 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. We are supported by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) and receive funding from over 50 different donors. About this position:
We are seeking experienced HR professionals with considerable general HR management experience having worked in vibrant international environment to fill the position of HR Specialist. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Specialist will work closely with the Human Resources Management team in the following key areas:

1. Workforce planning
2. Recruitment, selection and Orientation
3. Management of Staff Insurances Schemes
4. Compensation and benefits administration
5. Payroll Management
6. Contract Management
7. Information Systems and data management

Minimum academic requirements:
1. Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field;
2. Seven years relevant HR experience in comparable organizations:
Personal attributes and competencies:
• Analytical, problem-solving skills and capacity building skills
• Proficiency in ICT
• Demonstrable oral and written communication skills
• Tactful, discrete and confidential, persuasive, sound and timely judgement
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
