Position: Empowerment and Employment Officer
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Our client is a leading youth, social enterprise organisation that is headquartered in Canada. The organisation focuses on harnessing and transforming youth into leaders in their communities through technology and social entrepreneurship learning experiences. The position is based in Nairobi.
To meet the needs of new programmes, the Organization wishes to recruit for the position of Empowerment and Employment Officer. This position reports to The Employment and Empowerment Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
• Support and liaison for the organisation’s tailored financial and employment learning experiences
• Workshops logistics coordination
• Development vocational materials, employment blogs, forums etc under manager’s instructions
• Maintain a data base of employers and establish good working relationships
• Support Field Officers in organising job fairs
• Support and monitor coaching and mentoring programmes
• Facilitate interns programmes including stipends and personal development programs
• Carry out employer needs assessment and prepare reports for incorporation in curriculum development
• Create data base of employers and ensure good relationships
• Coordinate placement of interns with the employers
• Maintain good networks and relationships with organisations and stakeholders.
The Pre-requisites
• Bachelors degree or professional equivalent in social science or business/entrepreneurial management
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
• Experience working with youth.

• Effective communicator and fluency in English and Kiswahili
• Excellent written communication
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong organization and planning skills
• Self-motivation
• Experience and skills in training and transfer of knowledge
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
