Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi invites applications for the position of Human Resources Officer
Responsibilities
​The incumbent will:
  • Assist in the preparation of job descriptions and role profiles for various positions in consultation with the Heads of Departments and the Manager, Recruitment
  • Assist in designing of advertisements in consultation with concerned Unit Heads/Heads of Departments
  • Assist in screening applications and forward to the concerned units and arrange for interviews/assessments of the shortlisted candidates
  • Conduct interviews of candidates for research and medical staff in assigned areas and make recommendations for selection
  • Prepare comparative analysis of salary packages in order to maintain pay equity and develop offer for selected candidates
  • Make salary offer and explain terms of employment
  • Complete joining formalities for newly hired faculty and staff in assigned areas
  • Liaise with Transport, Travel & Housing Section to ensure arrangements are made for out of station prospective employees
  • Ensure all recruited employees undergo pre-employment physical examination
  • Conduct reference checks prior to any hire
  • Assist in the follow up of obtaining work visas and work permits for all expatriate prospective employees of the University
  • Manage documentation verification prior to hiring of new employees
Requirements
​Applicants should:
  • have a Degree in Social Sciences with a Diploma in Human Resources
  • have a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in a busy HR department
  • be proficienct in all MS Office packages
  • have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • be able to work under pressure and maintain strict confidentiality.
