Head of Marketing and Social Media

 East Africa seeks to appoint a pro-active and dedicated individual to assume responsibility as Head of Marketing Social Media, on a permanent basis and be in-charge of developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives. The successful candidate must have extensive experience in the marketing and social media arena. This person will report to the Regional Director: East Africa. The position is based in Kenya, Nairobi.

ยท         Develop annual marketing plans in-line with the allocated budget and show an ability of working on tight budgets by utilising creative solutions
ยท         Conceptualize and brief-in campaigns to ad agencies and oversee the campaign and the relevant processes
ยท         Be in-charge of all on air-imaging and communication and liaise with the production house accordingly
ยท         Act as brand custodian for the East Africa Channels and continually evaluate and improve the positioning of these brands to ensure that they are aligned to the companyโ€™s overall objectives, mission and vision
ยท         Managing launch campaigns for new channels, and overseeing their effective maintenance
ยท         Build a good working relationship with Media Sales in order to maximize the commercial potential of these channels
ยท         Develop and implement Digital Media strategy for East Africa
ยท         Build and increase the brand equity through digital media
ยท         Integrate digital plans with programming and channel marketing plans to leverage and increase engagement/talkability/interest/followers
ยท         Develop a deep understanding and strategic insight into international digital media marketing (e-marketing) trends and best practices
ยท         Establish and maintain effective strategic relationship with website admin dept.
ยท         With the help of the research department, track research trends and react with appropriate plans and measures
ยท         Manage direct reports effectively
ยท         Write monthly reports and attend meetings with relevant stakeholders to feedback on activities planned for the channels
ยท         Continually seek ways to improve the image of the channels and build strong awareness of these channels and shows into the relevant markets
ยท         Commission on an annual basis relevant market research initiatives
ยท         Budget Management and control

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS

ยท         A tertiary degree in Marketing or related field
ยท         At least 3-5 yearsโ€™ experience in Marketing, of which 3 years must be in Digital Media Marketing. (Experience in Entertainment industry an advantage)
ยท         Understanding of a multi-channel environment and broadcasting
ยท         360 Marketing knowledge with emphasis on TV marketing and promotions
ยท         Exceptional consumer insight and understanding
ยท         3 yearsโ€™ experience in supervising and managing staff
ยท         Expert in Internet and social media strategy
ยท         Experience managing external PR and communication consulting firms and contractors
ยท         Experience in the global marketplace is a plus
ยท         Event coordination experience
ยท         Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel)
