Accountabilities
Under the direct supervision of the Monitoring &Evaluation Officer, the M&E Assistant will carry out the following duties
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Review all field monitoring reports for timeliness, completeness and quality highlighting gaps and or areas that need strengthening.
- Support the VAM market team in market monitoring related functions
- Review monitoring narratives, management reports and data submitted by field office to ensure consistency
- Keep an updated spreadsheet of results for all indicators monitored by M&E and track progress in achievement of the targets
- Update monitored sites for each activity against sampled sites highlighting reasons for replacement or lack of monitoring.
- Collate M&E related issues raised through SITREPs, follow up and or escalate as required.
- Assist in updating KCO M&E guidelines
- Ensure project sites list for all activities are updated
- Assist in drafting monthly reports and updating action sheets with key findings
- Support other M&E activities including field support, trainings, CP evaluations etc.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications, Experience, Critical Success Factors and Language
- Successful completion of secondary school education. A degree/training in Social Science, M&E, Project Management, Development Studies or statistics is desirable.
- A minimum of five years progressively responsible work experience including at least one year in Information systems management, project monitoring and evaluation, data analysis and report writing.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
- Ability to write correctly in English and to communicate matters orally and in writing. Should be able to maintain accurate/precise records, to perform detailed work and to handle a large volume of work quickly and accurately under time constraints.
- Should be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
- Courtesy, tact and the ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
