Marketing Assistant

Our client is a membership society that raises funds to support regional outreach programmes that is geared towards communities that do not have access to healthcare. They are looking for an enthusiastic, driven, self-motivated individual to fill the position of a Marketing Assistant in their Arusha, Tanzania operations.

JOB PURPOSE
Contribute to the organization’s fundraising objective through efficient processing of membership forms and the sale of retail items.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serving walk in clients by processing memberships (new and renewal) as per laid down procedure.
• Processing the membership applications received from the sales team as well as those received by post, accurately and in a timely manner.
• Stock and sell shop items at the agreed prices and maintain proper records of sales, stock levels, etc. as required by the Retail Executive and the Finance & Administration department.
• Issue the appropriate receipts for all donations received at the shop and submit them as per procedure.
• Print and dispatch renewal notices once a month, following up to secure renewals and referring the more resistant ones to the Marketing Executive/Marketing Officer for follow-up.
• Record all complaints, complements and requests made by members or potential members and forward these to the Marketing Executive/Marketing Officer for action.
• Ensure adequate supply of the organization’s materials/information at membership contact points such as the Shop and other outlets.
• Prepare and submit periodic reports such as monthly shop sales reports, membership status reports, etc as required by your supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS
• Diploma in Sales and Marketing
• ‘O’ Level or equivalent.
• At least 2 years experience in sales as well as NGO exposure.
• Demonstrated customer service experience.
• Must be of Tanzanian nationality.
• Excellent selling, presentation and communication skills.
• Self-drive, strong and outgoing personality. Customer service skills
• Good relationship building and negotiation skills
• Self-drive, ability to take initiative and innovative
