ACF is present
in Kenya since 2001. Currently the mission is implementing program activities
in West Pokot, Isiolo, Tana River, Garissa and Dadaab refugee camps.
The intern’s
objectives and activities (with direction from the FSNS assistant manager and
FSNS officers) will include:
Objective 1:
support integrated SMART surveys and coverage assessments(SQUEAC/SLEAC) in
adherence to GOK protocols/guidelines
Activities:
ü
Work closely with FSNS assistant
manager in the planning process; development of survey methodology, procurement
request and budget follow up
ü
Creating awareness at the
community/community mobilization
ü
Support recruitment of
survey enumerators
ü
Participate in training of
survey enumerators
ü
Take part in survey data
collection as a team leader
ü
Support the survey team
during data entry; analysis and report writing
ü
Provide feedback and lessons
learnt from the survey exercise
Objective 2 : To support NDMA in seasonal assessments (LRA and SRA) at
the County level
ü Support NDMA in monthly data collection ; to take part in field work
during long rain and short rain assessments
ü
Participate in data quality assessment at the field
level in close partnership with NDMA field monitors
ü Provide OJT on NDMA field monitors on nutritional anthropometry
Objective 3: To
work closely with FSNS assistant manager in planning for future assessments
ü Conduct situational analyses at the community level in close partnership
with MOH and other stakeholders
ü Provide support where necessary in participatory vulnerability capacity
assessments(PVCA) at County level
QUALIFICATIONS
University graduate who has recently completed a
specialised course in Food, nutrition and dietetics

Strong interpersonal relations, good communication and
team work
·
High sense of integrity,
transparency and moral values.
·
Language skills: English and Swahili
fluent
·
Computer skills; proficient in basic
Microsoft packages (word, excel, outlook, power point etc.); ability to use
SPSS and ENA for SMART software.
What
ACF will offer:-

Monthly Stipend
Start date: February 2014
Duty station:
Nairobi Office with possible travel to the field bases. ACF will provide
transport and accommodation plus meals when travelling to the field bases
Duration of
contract:
Five months
