Business Development Specialist (Head)
(Based in Nairobi - work within EA Community region)
Role: Acquire and maintain Business and partnerships for the company in both private and public sectors
Responsibilities
- Have the individual responsibility for new business Acquisition and manage complex large pitches and strategies.
- Conduct extensive market research on the economic conditions surrounding the business activity such as industry trends and competition with the aim of identifying target business.
- Networking, Developing and implementing a multi- faceted stakeholder Engagement plan with other industry players to identify and develop opportunities to acquire corporate business.
- Preparation of a detailed business plan in line with company goals and objectives.
- Contact professional advisors such as an accountant, educationists, banker and/or lawyer to provide expert information about target business.
- Attend workshops, trade shows, and seminars to keep up-to-date on changes in the industry.
- Identify and understand the decision making processes to ensure the company engagement strategy reaches key decision makers.
- Develop a situation analysis of the company including its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to assist in the development of a strategic plan for the future of the business.
Desired Qualities
- Ex CEO/CFO/Head of Business Development/Operations in a mid service oriented organization or Mid level manager in a large multinational.
- Good Academic qualifications : Min. Post Graduate level
- Age 35-45 years
- Excellent industry or government connects
- Excellent presentation and communication Skills
- Flexibility to work extensively and willing to work long hours and meet targets
- High level of understanding of varied business structures with exceptional business and analytical skills.
- Ability to establish business partnerships at all levels, creating and maintaining effective credible influence .
- Focused and driven to succeed.
- Be sitting on various private sector or industry associations.
- Must be legally permitted to work in Kenya.
