Organisation Caritas Switzerland (Caritas) is a non-governmental aid agency and a member of Caritas Internationalis. Caritas works in Eastern Africa and the Horn of Africa with a focus on education,
strengthening of civil society, food security and water, hygiene and sanitation. We operate an office in Nairobi, have Country Offices in Somaliland (Hargeisa) and South Sudan (Torit) and a Representative in Ethiopia (Addis Ababa).
Caritas is seeking a consultant for the facilitation of “Participatory Assessment of Climate and Disaster Risks (PACDR)” for Kenya Programme.
Assignment Consultant, Facilitation PACDR
Duration 11 days (8 days field work including travel and 3 desk work days)
Location Nairobi and Laisamis Sub-County
Key tasks
Facilitates one Participatory Assessment of Climate and Disaster Risks (PACDR) with
Kenya Country Programme Staff, possibly partner staff, regional staff and other
stakeholders;
Guide follow up-process of assessment that leads to revised exemplary project logframe;
Train two project staff to enable them to replicate facilitation process of PACDR;
Essential requirements & qualifications
The Consultant should have:
At least an university degree in a subject that relates to the task such as environmental
engineering, environmental management, sustainable development or similar;
At least five years consistent work experience in the study subject;
Excellent facilitation skills with a proven track record for participatory processes;
Actual proven experience in the facilitation of PACDR.
