Marketing Manager


AHF Global Management Programs seek to recruit dynamic, self driven and innovative professionals to fill the following positions located in Nairobi, Kenya:
This is a management position with a dual reporting to the Policy Advocacy Manager and Director of Global Marketing with professional accountabilities to stakeholders. The job holder is responsible for adapting existing, developing, establishing and maintaining new marketing campaigns and strategies aimed at improving access to HIV prevention, treatment and care in the East and West African countries of the AHF Africa Bureau. In addition the position holder will evaluate market conditions, identify key HIV/AIDS audiences, conduct patient research and implement changes in the Africa Bureau marketing plans.

Key Result Areas, Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement the AHF Africa Bureau marketing strategy in collaboration with the Global Marketing Team and monitor its implementation.
2. In liaison with Medical Advocacy and Socio-Economic Empowerment Departments, develop, roll out and monitor marketing and branding plans to increase public awareness and influence attitudes
and behaviours.
3. Coordinate roll out of country KPIs, M & E tools to measure impact of marketing plans.
4. Develop and rollout country protocols for marketing work during emergencies.
5. Develop common program protocols that ensure integration marketing in program design.
6. Develop and execute strategic marketing plans and opportunities for events and campaigns to advance AHF goals; and publicize organizational events and publications
7. Maintain and uphold AHF standard documentation and branding in line with global priorities to deepen AHF position and a ‘challenger brand’ in fighting AIDS.
8. Carry out audience mapping and ensure marketing is focused on communities AHF serves and harness collective action through participatory and interactive approaches.
9. Develop and grow digital media usage platforms such as website, twitter, face book etc
10. Identify significant media and public policy issues that can be leveraged to support AHF’s agenda; build, cultivate and manage external relations with the public and policymakers.
11. Contribute to strategic decision by participating in meetings with the Global Marketing Team, Management and Bureau meetings; and communicating updates and decisions to audiences
12. Initiate and sustain strategic linkages with service providers and obtain cost effective products of right quality and standards.

Qualifications, experience and skills
 Our preferred candidate will possess a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business related fields with a minimum of 4 years’ proven experience in health campaign work and marketing.
 Proven track record in leading, developing and managing campaigns and marketing health programmes especially in HIV and AIDS at senior position.
 Sustained experience in popular mobilization and technical expertise on strategic and programme event management at national and international levels.
 Strong and highly developed skills for partnership development and management with ability to expand and grow partnerships.
 Must possess high level of people related and interpersonal skills with excellent ability to work with courteously and effectively with diverse communities and partners; navigate a complex, multi-stakeholder environment and diverse technologies.
 Excellent written and oral communication skills.
 Excellent marketer with demonstrated skills for positioning an organization as a "go-to" resource;
proven track record in brand building and track in executing effective branding initiatives.
 Expertise in wed design, development of communication and campaign materials
 Strong operational mindset, high-energy, positive and professional approach, with "can-do" attitude and spirit.
