Regional Human Resources Manager

Location: Nairobi – Kenya
The Regional Human Resources Manager has overall responsibility for management of the organizations human resources with a view to enhancing, organizational and individual performance and contribution to AHFs goals and mission. He/ She will supervise of all HR Managers and other HR personnel in region and provide functional guidance and support Country Program Managers on all HR related matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Implementing company policies and guidelines and ensuring employee adherence to these mandates Planning and identifying methods that will enhance the employees and client relations in the workplace to support organizational growth
Participating in creation of and leading implementation of guidelines, policies and
procedures regarding staffing and workforce management to optimize productivity and service delivery.
Identifying and leading learning and skills development programs for the staff and
management to enhance their productivity and performance.
Charting recruitment and retention programs that will build a results oriented team
Overseeing research for local market rates to assess its relationship to organizational
compensation plans with aim of informing Director of HR and management
Participating in the development of policies regarding benefits and compensation of the
staff that act as incentives for optimizing performance
Supporting talent acquisition initiatives and contributing to sourcing, interviewing,
selecting and training programs. In collaboration with other key managers, he/she is
responsible for hiring of local nationals to fill in vacant posts as may be required
Appraising local managers and initiating HR development programs
Briefing new managers and employees about company policies and procedures and leading the orientation of new staff
Overseeing compliance to occupational safety and local employment regulations
Ensuring adherence to federal and national employment benefit laws
Gathering information regarding employee satisfaction, work conditions, wages and performance reports to inform management decisions
Taking responsibility for developing, monitoring, and interpreting key performance
indicators (KPIs).
Serving as a designated expert on the interpretation of human resource policy issues for the respective countries
Developing and implementing HR elements for business travelers for each of the
designated countries
Developing and assisting in the implementation of HR programs for all specified countries with concentration on country labor law and legal policies
Collaborating with partners or contracted entities for an extended period to develop polices , processes, procedures and handling employee relations issues when required Represent AHF and manages relationships with staff unions where this is applicable Actively support, recommend and participate in continuous staff development/ capacity/skills building processes. This includes seeking training opportunities for staff from other institutions through networking, collaborations and partnerships Liaise with the HR department on a regular basis to keep them posted on HR related issues on a regular basis Participates in planning and supervision activities with the aim of providing human resource support for all designated countries Other duties may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Our preferred candidate will have:
A Masters degree in human resources or Masters of Business Administration with
specialization in Human resources or equivalent, with at least ten years 10 years’
experience managing human resources.
Experience working in cross cultural teams across different borders will have an added advantage
Strong analytical skills, ability to interact, influence, and engage at senior levels and exhibit extensive skills in organizational effectiveness
High conceptual skills and be a strategic thinker, have good organizational and planning skills and ability to prioritize tasks and work quickly and accurately to meet deadlines.
Experience in working in multi-cultural setting, with excellent interpersonal and
communication skills and capacity to work with a partner-based approach
Interest, be willing and able to travel at least 50% of the time
