CALL FOR VOLUNTEER
INTRODUCTION
Handicap International (HI) is an independent and impartial international aid organisation working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. Working alongside persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, our action and testimony are focused on responding to their essential needs, improving their living conditions and promoting respect for their dignity and their fundamental rights.

CONTEXT ANALYSIS
HI identified the need for a volunteer to work together with the Human Resource Manager in order to enable the Human Resource office to achieve its objectives more effectively and efficiently.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THE VOLUNTEERSHIP
To ensure smooth running of the human resource activities

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE OF THE VOLUNTEERSHIP
The Volunteer is to contribute to a variety of administration activities in Nairobi by providing human resource administrative support to the department for the smooth running of activities.

PLANNED ACTIVITIES OF THE VOLUNTEER
The Volunteer will work closely with and report directly to the Human Resource Manager. He/she will be directly contributing in the following activities:
 Assisting in the filing of all HR documents both electronically and manually
 Ensuring that all staff files have all the relevant statutory documentation
 Assisting in the archiving of HR files
 Assisting in updating the organogramme
 Assisting in ensuring all documentation in relation to trainings attended by staff have been received and filed.
 Assisting in any other duties

EXPECTED OUTCOMES
 The volunteer will have learned about the organization and the operations of a HR
Department
All HR files updated both electronically and manually
 All HR documents are updated.
 Smooth operation of HR activities and reduce backlog

DURATION AND LOCATION OF THE VOLUNTEERSHIP
The volunteership is for a period of three months renewable for a further three months subject to performance. He/she will only be receiving a daily meal and transport allowance of Kshs. 700 per working day ( Monday to Friday) subject to statutory deductions, paid once a month in advance.
The volunteer will be based in Nairobi.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE VOLUNTEER
 At least a certificate in Human Resource Management
 Prior working experience is desirable (but not mandatory) with at least 1 year relevant experience.
 Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
 Good computer applications knowledge
 Should be available for duration of not less than two months.
 Candidates should be able to work in a team and be flexible in taking other duties as delegated.
The intern is to comply with the Staff regulations for HI Kenya Programme
