1.      Background SNV Netherlands Development Organisation is the lead agency for the implementation of the Producing for Urban Markets Project (PUMP) in Terekeka and Juba Counties.  The three-year project is funded by the EU and is designed to stimulate fish-sector enterprises in the fishing communities and the fish traders in the two counties.  The project overall objective is to contribute to improved food security situation for communities living in the rural areas of Terekeka and Juba Counties, Central Equatoria State, (CES), Republic of South Sudan (RSS). The project will achieve this through working with 800 women, men and the youth who operate from fishing camps along the Nile River, adjacent lakes and the fish markets in Juba Town.  The praoject is implemented by a consortium consisting of SNV as the lead agency, Compass a local NGO, and the State Ministry of Animal Resources and Fisheries (SMARF).
