JOB OPENING for

CAPITAL ACCOUNTANT

Based in Juba, South Sudan on a fixed-term contract


Médecins Sans Frontières is a Private International Organization. The Organization is made up mainly of doctors and health sector workers and is also open to all other professions which might help in achieving its aims.
Médecins Sans Frontières provides assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict. They do so irrespective of race, religion, creed or political convictions.
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Belgium  has been present in South Sudan since 1988.

Main Duties and Responsibilities :
1.       Responsible for the quality of the vouchers
2.       Ensure vouchers are properly presented and stamped, include all relevant & required validation signatures, include attached any relevant and required support documents
3.       Responsible for rebilling of other sections/third party and make sure that the amount is refunded
4.       Responsible for the quality and accuracy of data-entry in SAGA throughout the mission for the assigned books: consistency with receipts/paper accounting, proper use of chart of accounts, respect of standard encoding guidelines for descriptions, etc
5.       Responsible for the correct monthly payroll encoding in saga (both for Homere book and regular books)
6.       Ensure close and proper follow-up of all cash advances, in capital and on the field
7.       Ensure that the monthly closing is duly and timely performed in the field:
·         integrate all books from field and capital cashbox in Saga
·         match all possible transfers and advances, check validity of the remaining ones unmatched to ensure accounting accuracy
·         for every book, check (and correct if necessary) every single entry and allocation (account code, project, description, etc)
·         send personalized feedback to each relevant staff (field, capital) listing mistakes and explaining corrections
·         after validation, proceed to final monthly closing in SAGA
·         send the exported electronic file to the Accounting Manager in due time
·         Send to the Accounting Manager the SAGA saving after closing
8.       Check and prepare all original closing documents, and pass to the Accounting Manager in due time

Minimum Required Skills and Qualifications :
1.        Minimum of CPA 2 or equivalent, with working experience of at least  2 year
2.        Computer literacy (excel, word, email, internet...)
3.        Fluent in oral and written English
4.        Preferably has experience working with INGO
