General Manager

We are a blue chip Company, a leader in the broadcast media sector. We seek to appoint a suitably qualified & dedicated individual to assume the responsibility of General Manager, Kenya. This position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and the successful candidate will report to the Regional Director: East Africa.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
·         Responsible for achieving financial (subscriber growth, operating profit and cash flow) and operational targets
·         Responsibility for subsidy management, database management and the execution of retention strategies
·         Be the focal point for Regulatory issues in the country including new legislations and technological developments impacting on the sector
·         Take responsibility for overall Sales and Distribution drive for the business
·         Take responsibility for Customer Service delivery
·         Monitor and propose on strategies to counter competition

OUTPUTS
·         Monitor financial and performance targets of the company
·         Maintain relationships between shareholders / Business Partners / 3rd Party Broadcasters, head office and key programme suppliers.
·         Co-ordinate implementation of Business Process
·         Develop culture of customer centricity
·         Manage subscriber management services
·         Identify business opportunities that align with the strategy of the company
·         Formulate /Implement /monitor business strategy
·         Prepare board papers
·         Pension Fund Trust Management
·         Draft and negotiate agreements
·         Working capital management – cash flows
·         Manage financial discipline re: financial policies and procedures and internal controls
·         General management reports
·         Liaise with bankers, auditors, suppliers and subscribers
·         Manage annual budget and forecast exercises

·         Manage statutory and tax obligations
·         Manage corporate image & reputation
·         Manage corporate social investment (CSI) programmes
·         Manage and develop staff

·         10 years’ experience in Business management
·         At least 5 years’ experience in a senior position at General Management/Head of Department level.

·         Proven experience in Consumer Electronics/Telcoms/mass market ICT Sector
·         Experience in sales, Distribution, Marketing & Operations of mass market products/services
