At Pula, we are radically restructuring agricultural insurance, using technology to insure the previously unbanked, uninsured, untapped market of 1.5 billion smallholders worldwide. As a crop cuts enumerator, you’d be at the forefront of this effort with several partners in Kenya. Location Baringo,Bomet,Bungoma,Busia,Elgeyo-Marakwet,Embu,Kakamega,Kericho,Kirinyaga,Kisumu, Laikipia,Murang’a,Nakuru,Nandi,Narok,Nyamira,Nyandarua,Trans Nzoia,Uasin Gishu,Vihiga,West Pokot,Migori,Kilifi,Kwale and Taveta Duration 4-5 weeks, with possibilities of extension if required. Scope of Work The ideal candidate learns quickly, is resourceful and is willing to move around in rural areas. They are comfortable speaking to farmers and other community members. Candidates need to be willing to follow instructions carefully and to communicate challenges and successes clearly. You will be supported by our Headquarters team based in Nairobi. Responsibilities • Attend training. • Visit sampled Farmers for yield harvest Measurements. • Use the CommCare app to capture Harvest measurements. • Report challenges and recommend solutions • Submit daily reports/Attend Team (Weekly) Meetings. • Keep good custody of inventory. • Ensure respectful conduct of yourself and team members • Receipt all expenses incurred • Regular communication with the supervisor using phone and WhatsApp. • Submit daily and weekly KPIs where requested. • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Key Requirements. ● Kenya certificate of Secondary school required. (Higher levels of education are good to have). ● Experience dealing with agricultural products/Agro dealers/farmers is required. Experience using smartphones is required. ● Candidates MUST have Knowledge of local language and come from the county of application. ● Experience in the Crop Cuts Experiment will be an added advantage. Compensation Compensation will be based on activities completed. Airtime will be provided as airtime transfers and will be expected to be used for work purposes. Transport will be provided based on assignments and estimates of transport needs. Expected Start and End date The exercise is expected to start July 2021 up to December 2021.Extensions may be available based on field activities.
