MIYCN (Maternal Infant and Young Child Nutrition) Officers

FH/Kenya (Food for the Hungry), a Christian Relief and Development NGO – with offices in Marsabit, Sololo, Meru , Isiolo and Nairobi seeks to recruit for the following urgent  positions for the Marsabit office. –

Position Titles:         MIYCN  – (Maternal Infant and Young Child Nutrition) Officers
Duty Stations:          Marsabit
Reporting to:                        Health and Nutrition Coordinator
Contract Period:       January  to  30th June 2014
Application closing date:   9th January 2014

           DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
1.      Modify dietary assessment forms by incorporating local terminology, feeding practices and locally consumed food
2.      Train and supervise the enumerators and field workers applying dietary assessment methods during the application of the ProPAN manual
3.      Provide nutritional expertise during the development of behavioral recommendations
4.      Assist in the Monitoring and evaluation of the ProPAN Methodology in Marsabit county
5.      Interpret the results from the different data collected at the field level from Propan assessments

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE (MINIMUM)
1.      Must be a committed Christian and willing to support FH/Kenya Vision and Mission statement.
2.      Hold a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
3.       2 years’ experience in Nutrition programming preferably in rural settings
4.      Should have a strong back ground in training communities on Nutrition and Health related issues
5.      Demonstrated experience in the use of ProPAN manual and data collection
