Assistant Accountant
Igare Rural Development Organization (IRDO) with funding from the Community Environment Facility (CEF
II) of the Community Development Trust Fund (CDTF), which is a trust of the
European Union and the Government of Kenya, is looking for Assistant Accountant
for its Three-year project titled “Rehabilitation of Nyankongo Swamp and
Conservation of river Rigare catchments”
Key Functions
Ensure that the Project operations are supported by
efficient and effective financial management systems and procedures and that
all funds are properly utilized and accounted for and asset management
Specific Duties and
Responsibilities
1. Preparation of cheque and cash payment
vouchers, taking them for authority to pay and issuing out cheques.
2. Procurement of standard items and
consumables for the project office
3. Handling all project daily cash
transactions and keeping petty cash float.
4. Maintenance of stores ledger
5. Maintenance of capital (asset) items
inventory
6. Responsible for the processing of payroll
for the project
7. Preparation of financial reports
8. Handling the payments of statutory and
other payroll deductions and filing annual returns to the relevant government
bodies
9. Doing banking duties and collecting funds
for project activities.
10. Assist in the handling all Insurance
matters as relates to project assets
11. Support project manager in management of
community project
Qualifications
- CPA Part 1, with a minimum
of 3 years relevant experience in fully computerized environment
Or
- CPA Part 2, with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Other
Qualifications
- Computer trained – Microsoft based software
- Valid riding License will be an added advantage
