Catering and Convention Manager


A new upcoming hotel based in Nairobi’s up-market area, is seeking to fill the following
position:

3. CATERING AND CONVENTION MANAGER ( 1 position)

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Brief Description
The Catering and Convention Manager is responsible for the overall execution and success of
each event in the hotel. From weddings and parties to large corporate meetings and ensure
overall satisfaction of our guests.

Detailed Description
 Lead, direct, develop and manage the implementation of all aspects of the customer’s events
to ensure smooth operations and as planned
 Promote event hosting to potential clientele including international, government and private
sector
 Create and maintain a positive image of the institution measured through repeat business
 Meet with representatives of groups and organizations to discuss what they have in mind for
their meeting or special event
 Keep records of all communications in writing
 Develop a guest feedback mechanism, prepare improvement action plans and oversee their
implementation
 Oversee development and successful implementation of the annual marketing plan
 Work directly with clients to arrange the requested details of the event.

Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Competencies
 A Degree in Hotel Management
 Minimum 5 years solid experience organizing events
 Have a passion for service and excellence
 Possesses excellent teamwork and ability to communicate effectively with clients
