DUTIES
|
|||||
Under the
overall supervision of the OiC of FAO Somalia, the Fisheries Officer at FAO
Somalia and the technical supervision of the FAO Resident engineer the
incumbent will:
·
Undertake
daily supervision of the construction work of the Fish Marketing and
Receiving Stations to be constructed in Tohin, Hurdiya and Eyl.
·
Provide
guidance to contractor concerning all civil works, refrigeration plumbing
works, electrical works, roofing, finishes among other necessary works on
site
·
Report
regular updates regarding work progress and a comprehensive weekly report
(outline to be provided by FAO) with pictures (GPS coordinates embedded)
detailing what was completed during the week, the challenges incurred and
solutions to the Fisheries Officer at FAO Somalia the FAO Resident engineer,
FAO field Manager, Bosasso office
·
Will ensure
that the sites log books are filled on a daily basis regarding the work progress,
type and number and skill of personnel engaged
·
Maintain
regular contact with Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources & Tohin,
Hurdiya and Eyl Municipalities and providing details on any challenges
encountered and solutions sought
·
Support the
contractor in liaison with FAO concerned officers to resolve amicably and
expediently any conflict that may arise which may hinder the speedy
implementation of the construction work
·
Facilitate
the safe custody and installation of the Fish Marketing and Receiving
Stations equipment once procured and on site
·
Facilitate
and accompany monitoring visits by FAO, and Evaluation missions.
·
Facilitate
and take part in PPP meetings and actions for managing the Fish Marketing and
Receiving Stations.
·
Perform
any other duties that may be identified by the Fisheries Officer at FAO
Somalia & the FAO Resident engineer

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should meet the
following:
|

Advanced
university degree in related field (civil engineering, electrical engineering
or related engineering works)
·
Minimum 5
years of proven working in construction works
·
Proven
working experience on setting up fisheries related infrastructure will be an
added advantage (i.e. ice plants, landing facilities, fish markets)
