A new upcoming hotel based in Nairobi’s up-market area, is seeking to fill the following

position:

STEWARD (3 Positions)

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Brief Description

The steward will be responsible for the overall kitchen cleanliness and maintaining a hygienic and

safe environment in accordance to the standards laid down.

Detailed Description

 Washing utensils, pots and other kitchen tools and equipment

 Putting the cleaned items in their storage areas

 Washing floor and ensuring that spills are mopped

 Sort and remove garbage as well as keeping the bins clean

 Cleaning walls and other kitchen working counters

 Helping the Chef de Partie when called upon to assist in the preparation of food.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Competencies

 Holds a Secondary School Certificate, training in this area will be an added advantage

 Have at least two years experience in a similar position in the hotel industry

 Ability to work in a high stressful environment

 Ability to work effectively with a team in a culturally diverse environment

 Excellent organizational skills

 Knowledge of hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen and possess discipline to enforce

those standards

 Flexible and able to work in rotating shifts
