Supervisor/Barman


A new upcoming hotel based in Nairobi’s up-market area, is seeking to fill the following
position:

5. SUPERVISOR/BARMAN (3 Positions)
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Brief Description
The Supervisor/ Barman will be responsible for the operation of both the restaurant and bar
service stations to meet the standards laid down.

Detailed Description
 Ability to multitask and serve both the bar and restaurant customers
 To prepare alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks for customers that adhere to the set hotel
standards
 Collect payments from customers and managing the cash register
 To manage an inventory of all the supplies in the restaurant and bar sections
 To ensure that the bar and restaurant are clean and presentable
 Maintain and improve standard of service and operating standards, ensuring maximum guest
satisfaction
 To manage the duty roster to facilitate the delivery of high service standards
 To ensure that the team is highly motivated and also to promote team work
 Oversee the correct taking and confirmation of restaurant bookings

Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Competencies
 Holds a Certificate or Diploma in Food and Beverage Service
 Have at least five years experience in a similar position in the hotel industry, expertise in
cocktail mixing a must
 Organized and work well in a high stress environment
 Knowledge of hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen and possess discipline to enforce
those standards
 Flexible and able to work in rotating shifts
