Human Resources Managers

Purpose of the Job
To coordinate, manage and oversee all Human Resources operational activities within a defined geographic area, as well as act as a centre of expertise for certain critical Group HR functions.

Main Responsibilities
1.  HR Operations
1.  Coordinate and manage (functionally) all HR operations within a designated area to ensure that all critical operational HR functions are optimised.
2.  Ensure the provision of a comprehensive HR service to line management in the designated areas of jurisdiction.
3.  Functionally manage the HR Operational Managers in these designated areas.
4.  Ensure that all Group HR strategies and plans are implemented in a customised manner in the designated areas.
5.  Centre of Expertise (COE) responsibilities
1.  Provide a comprehensive centre of expertise function within HR to the entire Group.
2.  Develop and implement relevant policies within the agreed COE portfolio and ensure these are rolled out and implemented throughout the Group.

Job Specifications
The successful applicant will report directly to the Group HR Executive. This position has a functional or ‘dotted line’ responsibility for the designated HR Operational Managers in certain countries. From a Centre of Expertise perspective, the incumbent will interact with all Business Unit Heads, as well as all Functional Heads.
The successful incumbent will be based in Johannesburg, and will:
·     Have a minimum of a degree preferably in HR Management or general commerce; a post-graduate appropriate degree will be an added advantage,
·     Be a registered HR practitioner or equivalent,
·     Have a minimum of 15 years working HR experience, specifically in either a service or a manufacturing business,
·     Have at least 3-5 years’ experience functionally managing an HR team across territories, either at a Group or a Regional level,
·     Have a specialist focus or interest in at least 1 specific HR function or area,
·     Have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills,
·     Be business literate,
·      Ability to effectively manage and develop future requirements,
·     Excellent in written and spoken English and have a good flair for presentation,
·     Have the ability to travel extensively, both within the region and other Eastern African countries.

The Group subscribes to market-related remuneration for the level of the position. The remuneration rate for this position will be commensurate with the applicant’s level of qualifications and experience.
