Portfolio Manager Personal Loans

The Position
Reporting to the Head, Credit Administration the role holder will maintain the quality of the personal loans (Check Off and Non Check Off, Salary Advances and Credit Cards) through effective monitoring and control of the portfolio.

Key responsibilities
  • Monitor and control all personal loans in all KCB branches by reviewing the efficiency and effectiveness of loans administration operations.
  • Monitor branch lending to ensure compliance to lending policy and prescribed lending procedures.
  • Generate credit reports for administrative, financial and regulatory reporting
  • Recommend to line management disciplinary action for breach of policy
  • Monitor service standards by checking for adherence with SLAs
  • Review the efficiency and effectiveness of loans administration by putting in place monitoring and risk mitigating procedures.
  • Offer credit guidance to Retail Branch network on matters relating to credit; staff training, credit audit issues and monitoring functions
  • Enhance Bank/Employer relationship by offering guidance on matters relating to Adoption of repayment instructions, repayment dates and staff training where need be.
  • Processing of the credit control reports relating to branches

The person
  • University degree preferably in business related field. Professional qualification i.e. CPA, ACCA, ACIB will be an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Commercial Banking/Financial Services out of which 3 must be in management within Credit function covering credit analysis, monitoring and control of loans.
  • Must have attended advanced credit course.
  • Possess good knowledge of securities and legal issues relating to lending.
  • Possess knowledge of CBK regulatory requirements on lending.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Strong organization and Leadership skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong analytical skills
