Roles and responsibilities• Process and archive genebank collection data
• Process and analyze associated data flows from genebank collection research
• Developing and improving the genetic resources database systems
• Maintain ICRAF genebank working database platform
• Process and submit genebank collection data to public shared databases
• Backstop all database related issues of the ICRAF genebank
• Update the SD3and GRU webpages with relevant information
Skill set• Diploma in Agriculture, Botany, Forestry or any other related field.
• Certification in computer programming or information systems
• 3 years relevant experience working in compilation of plant passport and characterization data
• Experience in Agriculture, Forestry or Environmental databases compilation.
• Good knowledge of web servers (IIS and Apache), Windows and Linux servers
• Good knowledge of MS SQL and MYSQL databases
• Experience in developing ASP, ASP.Net, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, XML and CSS
• Good knowledge of information architecture and usability design
• Experience plant passport and characterization data compilation
