Programmer and Systems Administrator


Job Purpose
To ensure smooth operations of the University’s Financial Systems.

Roles and Responsibilities
1. To respond to user requests for Kuali Financial System (KFS) - troubleshooting
2. Install, configure, document and maintain test and production KFS applications and databases
3. Develop and document reports on KFS data through BIRT and Pentaho report write tools
4. Ensure that regular backups are conducted as per laid down policy for all KFS data – attachments, database, configuration files
5. Develop and maintain software to connect KFS to other systems
6. To conduct the role of Academic Management System application and systems data administrator
7. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications
· A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree from a recognized institution
· Demonstrable proficiency with Java, Relational databases (SQL), Linux.
· Familiarity with Web applications, HTML, XML, Scripting
· Desirable - Pentaho reports, Oracle database, Virtualization software, Version control, Automated testing, Spring framework, MySQL
· Relevant hands on experience in systems development will be an added advantage.
