Organizational
background
The World Food Programme Somalia activities
include food assistance for relief, emergency school feeding,
humanitarian air
and logistics services, food coordination and emergency rehabilitation
projects.
This position is open to qualified Kenya Nationals only.
Female

Major
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Head of Unit
(VAM), the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:-

Geo-referencing the village database with GPS
coordinates (Latitude/Longitudes);
·
Creating Keyhole Markup (KMZ) files using
Google Earth for the village database level;
·
Updating the village database indicators and
the respective KMZ files;
·
Assisting in GIS data processing and mapping
as and when need arises;
·
Assisting other units in data entry;
·
Support of data entry for Cash & Voucher(C&V)
markets and household assessment;
·
Analyze and process requests for a variety of
data;
·
Prepare periodic reports, statistical
information and tables;
·
Liaise with other units to resolve issues,
clarify or obtain additional information
·
Draft correspondence related to the field of
work
·
Perform any other related duties as required.
Minimal
Qualifications:
Education:
|
Secondary education, preferably supplemented by courses in a field
related to WFP Programmatic activities.
|
Experience:
|
At least four years of
progressively responsible support or secretarial work experience including at
least two years in the field of accounting, transport, insurance, statistics,
operations or other related field. At least one year at the G4 level or
equivalent.
|
Language:
|
Fluency in both
written and spoken English is a requirement.
|
Knowledge:
|
Experience utilizing
computers, including word processing, spreadsheet or other WFP software
packages.
