Sales and Logistics Manager

The company is Kenyan owned and managed with a global network of partners and affiliate offices run by professional staff and is determined to succeed in building quality relationships with their clients. The Company is a member of the Kenya International
Freight & Warehousing Association (an affiliate of FIATA) and a host of other industry associations and aim to become leaders in the provision of logistics and shipping services within the East Africa Region.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Responsible for achieving sales targets and growth
• Ensuring high customer satisfaction through conducting market place intelligence and research
• Participating in identifying corporate sales planning and strategies
• Identify and enlarge Targeted Customer Base and Industry
• Promote service offering to customers and prospects by conducting sales calls and visits. Prepare and conduct corporate presentations and sales meeting
• Develop pricing and business models based on customer needs
• Preparation and submission of proposals to prospective clients
• Respond and follow-up on customers’ enquiries and requests
• Provide timely and accurate information on industry or customers’ intelligence to enhance overall company strategy
• Collate and submit sales reports and analysis to the General Manager
• Develop strong customer relationships through regular visits or timely response to their queries
• Ensure timely and accurate invoicing
• Responsible for debt collections and bad debts resolution while implementing the credit policy
• Discharge all account management responsibilities
• Any other duties as and when assigned by the General Manager

Person Specifications:

• Degree in Sales/Marketing/Business Administration or similar field from a recognized university
• 4-5 years sales experience in a logistics/operations environment; 2 of which are in Managerial roles.
• Excellent leadership and management skills as well as analytical skills
• Good understanding of logistics concepts
• Good presentation and communication skills (written/verbal)
• Commercially astute (in order to understand the commercial implications)
• Customer-focused (in order to meet the needs of each customer)
