Project Assistant
FH/Kenya (Food for the Hungry, Kenya) a Christian relief and development
agency seeks to fill the following vacant positions in Marsabit and Moyale.
Post Title: PROJECT
ASSISTANT (2 position)
Duty
Station: Marsabit & Moyale.
Duration: 1 Year. (With possibility of
Extension)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implementation of various
project activities
- Understand
individual OVCs and PLWHA and their families and document their case
history details Mobilize caregivers of the OVC & PLWHA and entire
community towards understanding and supporting of the FH Kenya development
philosophy and objectives.
- Distribute
materials and other support offered to beneficiaries and ensure the
distribution list and other documents are signed and filed as per program
requirements.
- Ensure
the beneficiaries (OVC and PLWHA) receive minimum package of services as
required by the program, and recorded in essential service sheets.
- Identify
and advocate for OVC and PLWHA with special needs in the target
communities (e.g. Inheritance
rights, domestic violence, child abuse, etc.).
- Provide
day to day guidance and support to volunteers and interns working within
your region.
Collaboration and
Coordination
- Identify
the churches and leaders working in the various communities and establish
linkages and partnerships to enhance outreach programs for OVC, PLWHA and
youth and their congregations.
- Forge
links with other organizations and institutions which are working with
OVCs, PLWHA and youth in order to improve the effectiveness of the FH
Kenya program.
- Submit
monthly progress reports (including summary forms, narratives, case
stories and activity photos) to the senior program coordinator by 28th
day of every month.
Training and home visits
- Train,
counsel, encourage and refer (where necessary) the various groups we work
with (both affected and infected ) to adopt positive methods in dealing
with HIV & Aids.
- Conduct
regular outreach visits to the project areas for planning purposes.
- Understand
all OVC and PLWHA, in their home environments through home visits, paying
special attention to child headed families.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE (MINIMUM)
§ Diploma in community Health, Social work, Nursing
or any other related field.
§ Minimum of two years work experience in community
work especially working with people living with HIV.
§ Training on HIV and AIDS Management.
§ Computer literate.
- Can speak any of the
Local Languages.
