Brand Manager

Summary 
Our client is a part of the Catalyst Principal Partners and one of the leading beverage businesses in Tanzania. They pack and produce quality brands and have attained market leadership through their quality tea blends and have been awarded an ISO 22000:2005 certification. They have also had their African Infusions herbal products ECOCERT organic certified.

We are looking for a business and customer focused Brand Manager to take on this exciting but challenging role. We are interested in meeting marketing professionals with at least three years experience in a similar post. You will be accountable to the Managing Director and will work closely with the Head of Sales, Retail Merchandisers, Sales Representatives, suppliers and agencies amongst others. 
 
The successful individual have experience in the fast moving consumer goods marketing environment and will be directly responsible for leading and effectively managing a team of Brand Assistants. 
 
Your will be based in Tanzania and your key responsibilities will include 
 
 Working in close consultation with the Managing Director to translate marketing plans into viable brand plans and activities and ensuring that these are aligned to the overall marketing plan; 
 Budget forecasting and management; 
 Champion Communication for the brand (s) including developing agency briefs, assessing the impact of marketing activities and carrying out periodic trade visits; 
 Developing new brands, new SKU’s and new products; 
 Overseeing all product launches and re-launches; 
 Managing suppliers (agencies, research companies etc.), setting quality standards and evaluating their performance; 
 Building and maintaining strong working relationships with other departments; and 
 Managing, developing and motivating the team. 
 
Success in this position will be demonstrated by the successful development and establishment of a strong brand position. The ability to put in place strategic and market focused initiatives that will bring the brand promise to life is an important element of this job. The effective and timely provision of key support and inputs which may include product, distribution and production, pricing, sales, and customer service amongst others will also be important. 
 
Proactive brand health monitoring, identification of problem areas and provision of suitable recommendations on remedial actions is a core output for this position. 
 
Qualification and experience 
 A Bachelor's degree in business Administration and Management; 
 Three (3) years experience working in a similar role within a fast moving consumer goods business and two (2) years management experience; 
 Knowledge of Kiswahili and English and excellent communications skills (oral and written); 
 Be culturally aware and adept at working across multiple geographies; 
 Be results focused with a demonstrable ability to operate in a performance driven organization; Sets high personal standards and is goal oriented; 
 Strong analytical skills; be a strategic thinking and also have excellent planning and  organizational skills; BRAND MANAGER-TANZANIA Adept Systems, 2014
