Broadcast Transmission Engineer
A vacancy has arisen within the organisation for a
Broadcast Transmission Engineer to be based in Kisumu. The
engineer will be responsible for the Western Region comprising of Kapenguria,
Webuye, Kakamega, Eldoret, Kisii, Homa Bay, Kisumu and Kericho.
Outputs/Responsibilities:
- Ensure world-class service levels for all Terrestrial digital
broadcast networks.
- Ensure effective implementation of new transmission systems
relative to software/hardware on various Broadcast platforms.
- Installation and maintenance of Digital Transmission and receive
infrastructure
- Conduct data and RF measurements
- VSat installation and maintenance.
- Change control and problem solving reporting processes
- Telemetry management (event and fault logging)
- Establish and maintain recovery processes
- Operational Monthly availability, failure and callout reports
- Establish and maintain operational processes to achieve optimum
service levels.
- Managing the first line support resources.
- Asset management.
- 24hr standby duties
Job Qualifications and Competencies
- A National Diploma or Degree in Engineering / Electronics
- Best
practices for Terrestrial digital/analogue operations
- VSAT
and Satellite Receive systems

Literacy – IT Networking

Radio
frequency (RF) knowledge, including measurements, i.e. proficiency with the use
of RF test equipment, .e.g. Spectrum analyser
