The Diocese of Lodwar invites applications from experienced persons to fill a vacancy as CLINICAL OFFICERS (3 positions)

Position: CLINICAL OFFICERS
Project: Medical Department
Reporting to: Health Unit Administrator
Duty Station: Lorugum Health Care (1), St Patrick Health Care (1), St Catherine Health Care (1)

Duties and Responsibilities:
 Patient care and management – Out Patient Department, In Patient Department
 Providing clinical care opportunistic infections
o Management of opportunistic infections
o Staging of HIV patients for Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) eligibility
o Initiating patients on ART
o Managing complications of ART
o Initiating and monitoring of Post-Exposure Prophylaxis
 Providing consultation to HIV-positive patients, monitoring and evaluation
 Maintaining accurate medical records and other data collection as required
 Facilitate CME’s in the facility
 Oversight of the preparation of Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reports
 Provision of Comprehensive and good quality clinical service to patients
 Ordering investigation and interpretation of results of diagnosis
 Coordinating medical examinations tests
 Keeping of complete and up to date patient records and preparation of monthly and other periodic reports
 Carrying out preventive health care of patients
 Ensuring availability of required equipments and ensuring continuity in the supply of consumable in the clinic
 Provide HIV/AIDs counseling, testing, PMTCT, preparing and adherence to antiretroviral drugs

Qualifications
 Diploma in Clinical medicine and surgery from a government recognized training college
 Knowledge and experience in HIV/AIDs management, management of comprehensive Center is an added advantage
 1 – 2 years experience post basic training and willing to work long and odd hours
 Be registered with Clinical Officers’ Council
 A recommendation letter from a Parish Priest.
