Foreman

Role of the Position 
The Foreman shall work side by side with the project manager, property owner, and other construction design engineers in order to complete a project in a given time limit. His job will include identifying suitable workers to complete the job, and supervise apportioned building process.

Company Profile:
Our client in the construction industry is seeking suitable candidate for the aforementioned position, to join their construction team in Kampala-Uganda.

The Foreman will be responsible for:

1. Coordinating and supervising activities of workers and construction needs for all phases.
2. Inspecting blueprints for determining various aspects of structure.
3. Choosing materials and structural units, and examining them to make sure that they not only conformance with provisions of building code and local ordinance but also minimize its cost.
4. Explaining floor plan and cabinet work to workers.
5. Deciding the order of all activities that are concerned with fabrication, assembly and erection of structure.
6. Allotting workers to their respective duties and making sure that they have the appropriate training and tools so that they can execute their jobs accurately.
7. Executing accident and incident reports.
8. Making sure regulatory needs and safety measures are maintained.
9. Assessing the fastest and easiest way to complete a job without sacrificing quality of the work being done.

Essential Qualifications
• A Diploma in Building and Construction or other relevant field from recognized college and universities. A bachelor’s degree in Construction Science is desired
• A Construction Foreman with five years (5) of experience in large construction plants (Kshs. 300 Million+)
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Specialized courses such as; building codes, design, inspection procedures, site control, scheduling, and safety also desired
