Position: Coordinator, Networking and Partnerships/GPPAC Regional Liaison Officer
Reporting to: Programme Manager, NPI-Africa
Nairobi Peace Initiative–Africa (NPI-Africa) is a pan African Resource Organization committed to the promotion of peaceful transformation of conflicts in Africa. Its work involves mediation and dialogue facilitation, training and capacity building, healing and reconciliation initiatives. Founded in 1984, NPIAfrica
also undertakes research and documentation, policy influencing in areas of conflict transformation, and promotes reflection and learning in peace building practice.
We are looking for a person knowledgeable in English and French with strong interpersonal relations to develop, plan and implement programme activities with special focus on strengthening our networks and partnerships mainly CSOs and key strategic actors in peace, stability and conflict prevention within the eastern and central Africa region. Reporting to the programmes Manager, the incumbent will undertake the following key tasks:
· Planning, coordinating and maintaining active networks and partnerships with National and Regional bodies
· Promoting NPI-Africa awareness amongst the AU, RECs, regional bodies and governments in the region
· keep regular communication with NPI-Africa partners; Share information and updates on NPI Africa activities in the region with these networks
· Participate in writing proposals to fundraise monies for regional activities
· Participate and organize/jointly organize national, regional and international meetings related to NPI-Africa and NPI-Africa partners
· Linking NPI-Africa conflict prevention activities in the region with regional bodies activities
· Writing reports on NPI-Africa activities in region
· Preparing financial statements in liaison with the Finance Office/Accountant of NPI-Africa
· Participate in organizing training workshops, seminars and conferences
· Collaborate with other programme staff in designing strategies for intervention for communities and partner organizations
· Participate in the preparation of programme work plans, budgets and project proposals Ensure effective utilization of the organization’s resources assigned
· Actively advice management and NPI-A leadership on relevant trends and recommended intervention actions for the region.
· Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
REQUIREMENTS: The incumbent shall possess BA in Social Sciences. MA in international relation shall be highly desirable; have at least 5 years proven experience in Great lakes and the horn of Africa peace building efforts; Candidates with peace building background will have an added advantage. Excellent interpersonal, communication, reporting and presentation skills are desired. LADIES WHO ORIGINATE
