Position: Empowerment and Employment Manager
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Our client is a leading youth, social enterprise organisation that is headquartered in Canada.  The organisation focuses on harnessing and transforming youth into leaders in their communities through technology and social entrepreneurship learning experiences. The position is based in Nairobi.

To meet the needs of new programmes, the Organization wishes to recruit for the position of  Empowerment and Employment Manager. A Programs Officer reports to this position. This position reports to The Country Director.

Key responsibilities include:
• Delivery of the organisation’s tailored financial and employment learning experiences
• Organizing and co-facilitating skill development workshops
• Lead employment activities by developing vocational materials, employment blogs,  forums etc
• Develop a data base of employers and establish good working relationships
• Organise and coordinate Field Officers in organising job fairs
• Develop, monitor and supervise coaching and mentoring programmes
• Coordinate and manage the interns programmes including stipends and personal  development programs
• Identify training needs from the employment market and advice on curriculum input
• Develop a monitoring system for all the trainees
• Establish and maintain networks with partner organisations and stakeholders.

The Pre-requisites
• Bachelors degree or professional equivalent in social science or business/entrepreneurial management
• A Bachelors Degree in technology or equivalent
• Professional training and certification in technology
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, 2 of which must be in management position.
