Position: Information Technology Officer
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Our client is a leading youth, social enterprise organisation that is headquartered in Canada. The organisation focuses on harnessing and transforming youth into leaders in their communities through technology and social entrepreneurship learning experiences. The position is based in Nairobi.

To meet the needs of new programmes, the Organization wishes to recruit for the position of Information Technology Officer. This position reports to the Finance and Administration Manager.

Key responsibilities include:
• Ensure the safety and security of all computer hardware
• Advice on software and applications upgrade and replacements
• Be custodian of passwords and ensure confidentiality
• Provide support and advise in ICT Hub program development and activities
• Support the partner organizations in their IT lab maintenance when required
• Take initiative to troubleshoot all IT issues in office and training centres
• Develop and facilitate refresher programs on the common office applications, organisation networks etc
• Develop for approval organisation’s IT policies, procedures that cover usage, safety and maintenance
• Develop and disseminate the necessary user manuals for staff and interns use
• Ensure all staff computers and peripheral devices are properly configured, have appropriate virus/spyware protection, and are in good working order.
• Develop a backup system and regularly review the backup logs
• Ensure all offices wireless network that is functioning, secure and properly configured
• Review and provide technical support on IT equipment and software purchase
• Provide technical support in innovative ways of disseminating information and  developing data base.

The Pre-requisites
• A Bachelors Degree in technology or equivalent
• Professional training and certification in technology
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
