Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi invites applications for the position of Maintenance Team Leader
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Maintenance Team leader will carry out activities relating to facilities maintenance of equipment and systems management. This will include operation monitoring, maintenance, technical inspection, acceptance testing, third party service supervision and contract monitoring. S/he will be involved in new capital equipment pre-purchase technical appraisal and annual facilities upgrade and replacement plan. Key responsibilities will be to: 
  • Provide technical support for facilities/systems throughout the hospital as assigned
  • Document all actions and test results according to the policy
  • Assist in the evaluation and supervision of technical staff
  • Preform incident investigation for facilities/equipment and system failure as per policy
  • Liaise with Supervisor to develop preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines for facilities/equipment and systems
  • Coordinate requests for special projects which include equipment/systems acquisition purchase planning, developing bid specifications and replacement planning
  • Develop with supervisor system wide quality and safety assurance plans
  • Liaise with Supervisor to develop emergency and safety plans related to use and operation of facilities/equipment and systems
  • Promptly respond to system/equipment Breakdown Maintenance(BDM) request from user Departments as per policy and maintain updated records as necessary
  • Timely complete Preventive Maintenance (PPM) for HVAC system/equipment and ensure uptime as per policy
  • Maintain updated inventory of all HVAC equipment
Requirements
​Applicants should:
  • have a Diploma in Refrigeration and air conditioning 
  • have at least five years’ experience in a similar position
  • be computer literate with excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills
  • be registered and/or eligible for registration with the Engineering Board of Kenya
Knowledge of technical functioning and maintenance of electrical HV/LV distribution, switchgear and controls, diesel generators, water pumps will be an added advantage.
