Introduction

Responsibilities
​The incumbent will:
  • Formulate effective work plans for all staff and areas to enable delivery of quality services
  • Draw the duty rota for the department to ensure adequate resource allocation at all times
  • Closely supervise all staff to ensure that quality service is being delivered
  • Ensure economical use of all materials and other supplies in the department, for financial viability of the department
  • Ensure that all hospital wards and designated areas are kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Motivate and discipline staff to enable good staff morale and fairness
  • Maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers to ensure a favorable organization climate
  • Develop and implement a regular training programmed for department staff on how to better housekeeping services, cost effectiveness and use of materials
  • Provide monthly action reports to the hospitality manager to enable measurement of departmental objectives
  • Conduct monthly stock takes for the department and present the following months budget to the manager
  • Participate constructively in the performance appraisal process to enable individual and organizational goals to be addressed
Requirements
​Applicants should:

  • have a minimum of  grade C  in KCSE
  • have a Certificate in Housekeeping and Laundry Supervision from Kenya Utalii College
  • have at least five years of similar working experience in a large organization
  • have good computer skills
  • have excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills
