PSI is looking for a consultant specializing in ICT to provide technical support to identify what is needed for infrastructure to support different systems and meet PSI global guidelines and good practices. We’re looking for someone who can provide take the complexities of ICT, systems, and technological portfolios and help local managers understand it like a 5 year old.

Your contribution
The ICT Consultant will play a key role in:
Improving IT systems
You will deliver technical support to PSI network members in Ethiopia, South Sudan, Somaliland, Malawi, Angola, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, and Mozambique to assess and plan, in collaboration with PSI technical staff, field office IT infrastructure to support global implementation of QuickBooks Enterprise and Office 365.
Be the go to person in simplifying complex technical issues
You will be able to develop written requirements, system architecture plans and designs, test plans, implementation plans, operation guides, and overall subject matter expertise for designated technologies based on PSI global guidelines and good practices.
Get the infrastructure right
You will working closely with key vendors to support infrastructure, address escalated issues and be up to date with current with technology portfolio. You will be the first support contact for a range of requests from field offices including hardware and software procurement assistance and providing application support. This may mean spending time in different countries to assess what is really needed and then provide on-going support from a distance.

You will be working with different levels of managers and implementers to make sure they know how to make it happen.

We need someone that can translate complex strategy into action while aiding field programs to more effectively integrated services across various delivery channels (e.g. social franchises, community health workers, pharmacies).
Has technical acumen
You have the knowledge and understanding of Networking, switches, routers, ISP (including negotiating contracts), Windows desktop and Server operating systems, Backup/disaster recovery, VOIP, Hardware procurement, Software licensing, VMware, Gmail, QBE, Azure, Microsoft Active Directory, ADFS, MS Office 365, MS Exchange, MS Lync, MS SharePoint. You have the ability to make good judgments and quick decisions based on sound analytics.
Actively listens and communicates
We want someone who can connect easily with people and share readily both solid writing skills and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. French & Portuguese proficiency is a plus.
Possesses the Street Cred
5+ years’ experience working in in networking, information technology infrastructure management or relevant technology field. Experience supporting IT in developing countries highly desired. We are looking for prior experience working with project teams to achieve systems implementation, testing and deployment.
Customer Service Guru
You understand how to unpack what is really needed by the client and bring them along on the technical journey to get to the real outcome that is needed. You have the patience and ability to get users now to understand the “foreign language” of IT.
This position will be contracted by different countries through an Individual Quantity Contracting mechanism. It is estimated to be approximately 4-6 months of work over the next 12 months.
