Roles and responsibilities• Develop and implement a plan to deploy AWARD’s M&E strategy including managing the M&E calendar of activities.
• Coordinate external partners and consultants to implement monitoring and evaluation activities.
• Oversee on-going monitoring and evaluation data collection activities, including designing and deploying appropriate monitoring and evaluation tools.
• Oversee M&E database and an electronic information management system setup including data processing, transfer, entry, cleaning and regular quality assurance checks.
• Track key performance indicators and ensure data are compiled and reported in in a timely, useful, and appropriate manner to key stakeholders including management team, donors & strategic partners.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analyses throughout the program lifecycle that supports both external accountability and internal critical analyses for learning and program improvement.
• Provide updates and guidance on M&E issues to members of the senior management.
• Build staff and partners’ capacity to use the M&E system
Skill set• Master’s Degree in the Social Sciences or a field of study related to international development; a specialization in measurements and metrics (Information, Statistics, or Demography) is a plus.
• Strong background in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies; experience with data collection.
• Capacity and experience to manage M&E systems at regional (Africa) levels (international experience a plus)
• A minimum of seven years of professional experience in knowledge management, monitoring, evaluation, and learning roles.
• Professional experience in the development and use of databases, data entry systems and use of quantitative and qualitative analysis software
• Working knowledge and demonstrated skills in developing data collection and analysis protocols for both qualitative and quantitative data
• Professional knowledge of evaluation theories and paradigms.
• Ability to serve as teacher and internal advocate of M&E to fellow staff members and partners.
• Strong oral, presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Strong writer and editor, being able to translate M&E findings into compelling, credible, and impactful stories and statements.
• Ability to effectively analyse and resolve problems as they arise.
• Good technical writing skills.
