Operations Manager

Our client, an international container leasing and trading company whose main areas of activity include the modification of shipping containers into accommodation and office units is seeking to recruit an Operations Manager whose main role will be to oversee the fabrication and fitment team. The ideal candidate is expected to be highly experienced in team management as well as project costing.
 
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Manage and train the fabrication and fitment team.
  • Manage the procurement, handling and control of materials.
  • Developing project costing plans as well as budgetary forecasts.
  • Implements procedures to improve quality, productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure proper compliance and adherence to all appropriate health and safety regulations and cleanliness requirements are followed both with regards for personal and inventory safety.
  • Travelling to various sites to install and assemble the fabricated containers.
  • Recommending changes when necessary and assist in implementation of new processes.
  • Maintain strong customer service relationship with clients while meeting client expectations.
Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of experience in related field.
  • Minimum of a Degree in Business or Logistics.
  • Should have a strong background in logistics and procurement.
  • Knowledge of welding will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in financial forecasting and creating budgets.
  • Experience in managing teams.
  • Good knowledge of English and Kiswahili, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
