Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Administrative Assistant.
Responsibilities
​Reporting to the Manager, Administration & External Affairs, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the senior executive staff and handling the front desk. Specifically, the incumbent will:
  • Provide general administrative support to the Director East Africa Institute, Director Quality Assurance and Director Resource Development
  • Provide front desk customer service to the public and AKU staff ensuring that inquiries to the Office of the Provost are addressed expeditiously
  • Receive and sort mail and deliveries
  • Schedule venues for meetings and workshops and prepare materials for attendees
  • Coordinate travel for Office of the Provost visitors, administration, faculty and staff including travel itineraries and making accommodation arrangements
Requirements
​Applicants should:
  • have a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or equivalent
  • be proficient in MS Office and have experience working in the travel function
  • have excellent communication and organizational skills, demonstrated ability to work in a team as well as independently and have excellent telephone handling skills.
