Human Resources Internship


Human Resources Intern will observe and learn the basic HR functions by receiving practical training from the HR Generalist, Senior HR Generalist, and HR Director.

The HR Intern will have the opportunity to gain knowledge about the role of the HR professional.
The individual will also provide support for various HR functions, including but not limited to the following:

Major Internship Duties and Responsibilities:
Schedule phone interviews, on-site interviews, and assist with test administration
Assist with screening applicant’s skills as they relate to our open positions
Perform background, education, and reference checks on candidates
Coordinate and organize recruiting by sourcing and screening candidates, scheduling interviews and building a pipeline of candidates.
Use creative methods and techniques to source, identify and recruit quality candidates for open positions.
Conduct phone screens on assigned positions in an effort to identify qualified applicants and to streamline the interview process.
Maintain internal applicant tracking system by ensuring candidates are moved appropriately in requisitions and the pertinent data is being tracked
Maintaining and updating employee files and employment documentation as required.
Assisting in the maintenance of employee database and software updates.

Qualifications:
Education: Pursuing a BA/BS degree with a focus in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Social Sciences.

Experience:
At least one year working in an office environment experience desired
Basic research
Typing at least 30 wpm.

Knowledge and Abilities
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Email and phone etiquette
Ability to interact with all levels of staff utilizing excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data required
Excellent verbal and written communication
Superior organizational skills; results-focus with superb execution and follow-through; highly detail-oriented
Efficient, highly productive multi-tasker; self-motivated and flexible; thrives in an entrepreneurial environment
Motivated to learn
Ability to maneuver through the internet
Capacity to communicate and enunciate adequately, in person or via telephone, in a manner which can be understood by those with whom the employee is speaking
