Introduction

Responsibilities
​The incumbent will:
  • Provide technical support for carpentry work as assigned including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
  • Document all carpentry activities and test results according to Department policy
  • Promptly respond to all maintenance requests (BDM) as per policy
  • Timely completion of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) for carpentry works as per schedules and maintenance of accurate documentation
  • Liaison with user Departments for maintenance activities and report arising issues to the team leader
  • Participate in requests for special projects such as newly built/acquired areas planning, development of bid specifications to ensure building codes and other statutory requirements/quality adherence etc
  • Develop with the team leader (Civil & Construction) planned maintenance schedules and guidelines
  • Perform investigation of carpentry/building defects (material and workmanship) and analyze performance as required
  • Develop building activities safety and in-service education to other technicians and facilities users as necessary
  • Develop or review emergency and safety plans related to use/storage of carpentry/building and related materials
Requirements
​Applicants should:
  • have a minimum of C- in KCSE or its equivalent and attest government trade test Grade III
  • have at least 1 year relevant experience in a similar position
  • be a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • be flexible, able to work under pressure and meet stipulated time lines.
