Linux System Administration Job

Purpose
  • Provide systems and network and administration support for internal and client systems.

Essential Functions
  • Deploy and maintain servers, workstations and networking equipment in accordance with regulations and requirements. 
  • Provide direct end-user support. 
  • Provide skilled analyses to determine future hardware/software requirements. Maximize systems and network availability. 
  • Ensure compliance with System Security Plans and other organizational requirements.
  • Other related functions as assigned to include training to internal and external customers.

Required qualifications
  • 2-3 yrs with wtih Linux systems admin/common automation/configuration mgmt/deployment tools/enterprise network systems monitoring.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Active Directory admin. 
  • Understanding and working skills of common network services protocols(SMTP,IMAP,POP, DHCP,DNS,LDAP,Active Directory,NFS,CIFS, SSL).
  • 2 yrs demonstrated ability with scalable Windows/Linux network-based deployments. 
  • 2 yrs demonstrated ability with scalable Zimbra/Postfix deployments. 
  • Specific experience deploying/configuring/managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS.
  • Ability to deploy/maintain telecommunications/networking equip - WiFi routers. 
  • Able to work under pressure. 
  • Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience integrating Windows/Windows Server/varied Linux environments. Experience w/ Puppet/Nagios/Cacti for configuration mgmt/network monitoring/capacity planning. 
  • Experience with BackupPC and rsync. 
  • Experience w/ Linux kernel configuration. 
  • Basic programming experience, to include Linux shell scripting, Perl, Python, SQL, C, C++, PHP/HTML. 
  • Experience with virtual computing environments, specifically VMware and VirualBox. 
  • Experience with continuous network and host-based security monitoring. Experience with classified systems security implementation.  

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/IT/related/2+ years of experience. 
  • More than the required experience in managing Linux systems/Microsoft Windows Active Directory
