FH/Kenya (Food for the Hungry, Kenya) a Christian relief and development agency seeks to fill the following open vacant positions for the above project in Marsabit:

PROJECT OVERALL OBJECTIVE
The
project aims to reduce the number of households currently using traditional
open fires and adapt to improved Energy saving cookstoves. To achieve this adopt a Market driven
approach and engage women groups and Youth groups as stove vendors within the
project area. (Marsabit Central, Maikona and North Horr)
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key result 1: Capacity
building of Community Based Organizations on business, financial and
entrepreneurial skills.
1.
Participate
in targeting and contractual of CBO’s.
2.
Create
Project awareness and Conduct trainings/capacity building to CBO
representatives.
3.
Support
CBOs to increase sales, distribute the stoves.
4.
Actively
participate in designing and building capacities of the various community
leadership groups.
Key
result 2: Create Environmental conservation awareness and community sensitization

Plan
and conduct environmental campaigns within the community
2
Conduct
Environmental sensitization meetings with CBOs.
3
Facilitate
community dialogue forum on Renewable energy and Environmental conservation.
Key
result 3: Monitoring and Evaluation
1
Reporting
and ensure timely, accurate monthly reports on EEP activities as per donor
requirements.

Participate
in special surveys and evaluations carried out in relation to the program.

Ensure
seed capital is well managed and paid up
4
Monitor
and review all required and relevant records at the Community level, to ensure
that they are accurately prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
5
Actively
participate and provide monthly CBO financial management reports.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE (MINIMUM)
- A Degree in Entrepreneurship, Community development or its equivalent.
- Past experience working with Community Based Organizations on livelihood activities such as Incoming generating activities preferably with a humanitarian or International NGO.
- Good Interpersonal communication skills.
- Good command of English and Swahili – both oral and written.
- Training and facilitation skills.
- Report writing skills a MUST.
- A team player with good organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge in Computer MS word, MS Excel.
- Committed to serving the poor in full agreement with FH’s foundation and beliefs as expressed in FH Kenya’s Vision , Mission and Values.
