PROPOSAL WRITER (REF: OPE/PRO/02/2012)

Responsibilities;
Develop proposal applications and achieve monthly targets for submissions and approvals.
  • Be familiar with the requirements and formats of different donors with respect to sectors, priorities, guidelines and what budget lines are fundable and what are not.
  • Know the time frame and submission deadlines for the relevant donors.
  • Identify strategies for multiple funding of rural livelihood development projects.
  • Identify new sources of funding via list serves, internet searches, and networking.
  • Represent organization to potential donors at forums and events.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Project Management (Preferable)
  • 2 years economic development or agriculture experience with established proposal writing skills under strict deadlines.
  • Capacity to work with non-governmental organizations, bilateral development agencies.
  • Familiarity with requirements of key livelihood donors and capacity to work in a multi-donor environment.
  • Good program design skills, including capacity to prepare logical, coherent and consistent documents including log frames.
  • Ability to present effectively to decision groups of donor
