Community Mobilizers

FH/Kenya (Food for the Hungry, Kenya) a Christian relief and development agency seeks to fill the following open vacant positions for the above project in Marsabit:

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Ensure 100% community mobilization is achieved during trainings.
  2. Conduct trainings and education on stove usage to CBOs and community within target areas.
  3. Conduct daily household visits to monitor stove usage.
  4. Ensure the usage monitoring questionnaires are filled on a daily basis.
  5. Compile the questionnaires on a weekly basis and hand over to the Project assistant.
  6. Participate in special surveys and evaluations carried out in relation to the program.
  7. Actively participate in designing and building capacities of the various community leadership groups.
  8. Actively participate in environmental and conservation campaigns.
  9. Monitor and review all required and relevant records at the Community level, to ensure that they are accurately prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
  10. Work closely with the CBOs to ensure that they achieve their targets.
  11. Ensure that seed capitals is duly refunded to FH.
  12. Submit CBO’s sales, stock and financial reports on monthly basis.
  13. Under the guidance of the Project assistant, assist in conducting regular meetings with Community leaders and CBOs on the relevant issues.
  14. Assist CBOs in inventory management and control.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE (MINIMUM)
·         Diploma in Entrepreneurship, Community development or its equivalent.
·         Past experience working with Community Based Organizations on livelihood activities such as Incoming generating activities preferably with a humanitarian or International NGO.
·         Good Interpersonal communication skills.
·         Good command of English and Swahili, ability to speak and understand local language a MUST.
·         Training and facilitation skills.
·         Report writing skills a MUST.
·         A team player with good organizational skills.
·         Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
·         Knowledge in Computer MS word, MS Excel.
·         Committed to serving the poor in full agreement with FH’s foundation and beliefs as expressed in FH Kenya’s Vision, Mission and Values.
