If successful, you will be part of a dynamic and passionate team in Nairobi and Somalia that works together to improve the health, nutrition, water, sanitation, hygiene, and basic education of Somali girls and boys and protect them from violence, exploitation and abuse.
The successful candidate will be offered a Fixed Term Appointment for one year. Further extensions will be based on organizational needs, availability of funds and satisfactory performance.
Purpose of the Post
Under the general supervision of the Supply/ Logistics Specialist performs Logistics functions.
Major duties and responsibilities
1. Responsible for verification of invoices for logistics services and parking (updating) in VISION, Maintain freight / logistics expenditure records for individual service providers and follow-up on invoice processing and payments. Address incorrect invoicing with service providers. Record final deliveries in VISION on the basis of signed Way Bills.
2. Responsible for Mogadishu outbound Logistics in VISION, preparing supply picking orders and waybills. Follow-up with Logistics services providers.
3. Responsible for Mogadishu inbound Logistics in VISION, Follow-up with Logistics Services providers and recording goods receipt.
4. Maintain records of all Institutional Contracts for Logistics Services and follow-up on expiring contracts.
5. Facilitation of regular physical stock counts in Mogadishu warehouses, responsible for related stock-movements and preparation of documents on inventory data.
6. Any other duties as assigned by your Supervisor
Qualifications, Experience and competencies
1. Completion of secondary education. Working knowledge of computer Word & Excel applications. Training in procurement, Logistics administration and Warehouse management.
2. Five (5) years work experience in administrative capacity preferably in field related to Supply & Logistics.
3. Proficiency in written and oral English and local language of duty station required.
4. Commitment to meeting deadlines and drive for results.
5. Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact readily with staff members at all levels.
6. Ability to work under pressure.
