Organizational
background
The
World Food Programme Somalia
activities include food assistance for nutrition, livelihoods, relief and
emergency school feeding, while also supporting humanitarian air and logistics
services, food security coordination and infrastructure rehabilitation
projects.
This position is open to qualified Kenyan nationals only. Female candidates in particular, are
encouraged to apply.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Head of Nutrition, the incumbent
will be responsible for the following duties:-
· Maintain up-to-date files and databases of the
section;
· Timely follow up on Cooperating Partners’
(CPs) reports from the CP liaison unit and Area Offices focal points;
· Liaise with other staff in the section to
obtain information required to update relevant files;
· Analyze and process requests for a variety of
data;
· Extract programmatic information from the
databases and other files;
· Prepare periodic reports, statistical
information and tables for the nutrition cluster;
· To collaborate with other technical units to
enhance the functionalities of the databases;
· Draft correspondence related to the field of
work;
· Perform other data entry tasks as may be
required within the programme unit;
· Perform other related duties as
required.
Minimal Qualifications:
Education:
|
Secondary school
education, preferably supplemented by courses in a field related to WFP
programmatic activities.
|
Experience:
|
At least three years of progressively
responsible experience including at least one year in the field of
accounting, transport, insurance, statistics, operations or another related
field. At least one year at G3 level or equivalent.
|
Language:
|
Fluency in both oral and
written communication in English. Fluency in the Somali language is
desirable.
|
Knowledge:
|
Experience utilizing
computers, including word processing, spreadsheet or other WFP software
packages. General knowledge of WFP financial rules, regulations and
procedures in the area of work.
